Scaredy-cats write the best horror.

I am Anthony Delaney, a Wellington-based writer and artist. I studied English Literature and Media Studies at Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University of Wellington. In addition, I studied Creative Writing under the International Institute of Modern Letters. I have been involved in a variety of creative projects since then, such as acting in films, conducting interviews, writing for magazines, and most importantly, writing and illustrating my own stories.

I wanted to be a volcanologist when I grew up. That changed when I discovered Edd Gould's Eddsworld when I was 11, and turned my aspirations towards comics and animation. My obsession with literature emerged soon after, when I discovered the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Since then, I've been a sort of creative all-rounder, building a variety of projects from the ground up. If I don't know how to do something, I'm very excited to learn it!

When I tell people that horror is my genre of choice, it's difficult to convey why that is. I don't particularly like to scare people for the sake of it — rather, I like to leave them asking questions, and horror is one of the few genres which embraces an open conclusion.

I am very open to commission work and collaborations. I have a Fiverr account, if you'd like to get an idea of my rates and/or commission me through there, but I'm very happy to correspond through email if you'd prefer.

I also love to write reviews, especially for independent artists. If there's anything you've worked on that you'd like reviewed and/or beta-read for free, please drop me an email!
